Getting to a healthy weight – and then staying there – is something that crosses the minds of many young women. The fact is that if you gain too much weight as a teenager, you are more likely to be overweight or obese as an adult which leads to health problems we can avoid by knowing what to do. These days, too many girls are eating foods that are fast and convenient. The problem is these foods have too many calories, too much sugar, too much fat, and too much salt.
So, what’s the answer? Eat smart and to move more.
How do you do that? Eat healthy foods, drink plenty of water, and get regular exercise. When you have the right balance of healthy foods, drink plenty of water throughout the day (not juice, sodas, or sweet tea), and enjoy physical activity (swimming, running, gardening, or skipping, it doesn’t matter what you do, just as long as you do something every day), then you have the ingredients for a healthy body AND a healthy brain.
Below is a list of ten foods that are SUPERFOODS because they keep your brain AND your body healthy, wealthy, and wise. Some of these foods are called antioxidants because they protect you on the inside. More and more evidence shows that diseases like cancer, type 2 diabetes (which is showing up in teenage girls now because they have been eating too many foods high in fat and sugar), and heart disease are caused by inflammation. What causes inflammation? Besides everyday stress, inflammation inside our bodies is caused by eating too much of the bad foods, like sodas, fried foods like Chicken McNuggets, and sugars, especially the highly processed sugar called high fructose corn syrup. So cut back on the sodas (regular OR diet), cut back on how often you eat fried foods, start reading food labels and stop buying foods that contain high fructose corn syrup.

By adding this superfoods into your daily diet you will soon be healtheir and happier. Eat more superfoods and eat less of the bad foods (anything containing high fructose corn syrup) and you will find it easier to stay healthy! If you combine superfoods with regular excercise you will have a super brain and body before you know it!
